Why WhatsApp groups are so good for launches — and why they break
A WhatsApp group is one of the highest-engagement channels you can put in front of a cohort or a launch list — open rates and reply rates beat email by a wide margin, and people show up live for drops, Q&As, and countdowns in a way they never do in an inbox.
The problem is WhatsApp caps every group at 1,024 members. Past that, you either close the door on new signups or you manually create a second group, generate a new invite link, and swap it everywhere you posted the old one — your GHL funnel, your confirmation emails, your landing page, your ads. Miss one spot and part of your list joins a group that's already full.
What Group Series does about it
CenGHL's Group Series feature gives you one permanent invite link for the whole launch. You paste it into your GHL funnel once. When the current group fills up, CenGHL automatically creates the next one — same name pattern, same photo, same description — and the link starts pointing there instead. You never touch the link again.
Setting up your first launch series
From the Series tab in your CenGHL dashboard, create a new series with:
- Series name — an internal label, e.g. "January Launch"
- Base group name — the pattern used for each group, e.g. "Launch Group" becomes "Launch Group 001", "002", and so on as it rotates
- Participant limit — the member count that triggers the next group to be created
- WhatsApp instance — which connected number hosts the groups
Optionally add a group photo, a description, and an automatic welcome message — sent both in the group and as a DM to every new member, with name and group placeholders filled in automatically.
Keeping it running if your number has a bad day
Add one or more backup WhatsApp instances to the series and CenGHL adds them as co-admins of every group automatically. If your primary number fails to send — rate-limited, disconnected, whatever — broadcasts and rollovers fall back to the backup number instead of just failing silently.
Broadcasting to your entire launch, not just today's group
When you send a broadcast to a series, it goes out to every group ever created under that series — group 001, 002, 003, all of them — not just whichever one is currently accepting new members. Nobody who joined early gets left out of an announcement because they weren't in the "current" group.
Broadcasts support plain text, images, videos, PDFs, voice notes, and polls (built with a simple #poll|question|1|Option A|Option B format). Sends are throttled automatically between groups so you don't trip WhatsApp's spam protections.
Wiring it into your GHL funnel
CenGHL adds a "Send WhatsApp Series" action to GHL's workflow builder. Drop it into your confirmation email workflow, pick your launch series from the dropdown, and every new signup gets the invite link automatically — no manual list management, no copy-pasting links into emails one at a time.
You can also trigger a broadcast to the whole series from any GHL workflow — useful for countdown reminders or last-call messages tied to a date or a tag.
Turning it into a WhatsApp Community
For bigger launches you want to feel like one space instead of a string of separate group chats, enable "Create community" when setting up the series. Every group in the rotation gets linked into a single WhatsApp Community, so members can tell it's part of the same launch even if they landed in group 004 instead of 001.
Getting started
Group Series is included on every CenGHL plan. Create your first series, drop the link in your next launch funnel, and stop worrying about what happens when it fills up.
